PORSCHE 911 AUCTION ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Thank you for visiting!

[For those of you who didn't arrive here as a result of viewing the auction, here is the item number in case you want to look at the auction: 330115247693.]

You've read my blurb on the eBay auction. Here's a little more information for you. If you don't like what I say there is always the Back button.

OK, this is an emotional auction for me. I've owned and loved this car for 34 years. We have seen some amazing times together, and in many instances the car is part of many of my life experiences. So it isn't easy to let go of it.

I've put a reserve on the car. If it isn't worth more than the reserve, I will keep it and drive it (happily) into the ground. However, I suspect the value of this car is in its original condition and its completeness, which I think will be of value to the restoration-minded.

Yeah, the car has some warts. From what I've seen on eBay, the warts are nits. Sheesh, a car purported to be completely original but hey, where did those bumper guards come from sells for $55K!

Like I say this is as much an emotional auction for me, so I get to be emotional. But the warts aren't what this car is about. They don't affect how it drives. How the doors close with a sold thunk. How the engine fires right away. How the shifts from first to second and second to third and third to fourth are delightful. This car is about the experience of being one with the machine, with an engine that never responds to Go Faster with anything else but OK! Maybe your latest rice rocket does that. But it isn't a 911. Only those who appreciate 911s will understand that, and if you don't, that's ok.

Sigh. Back to the mundane.

Thanks for looking at my baby.

Now, on to the full size images. Warning: these images, while delightful and full of detail, are very large and will thus take some time to download if you have a slow connection. Here we go.

An interested party asked about the rear torsion bar mounts and the car jack receivers. I have added photos of those items below. My apologies, I was in a hurry and did not crop them.

Parts, etc. that were accumulated during my 34 years of owning the car, and that are being auctioned separately from the car itself. Except for the heater boxes - I concluded that they have little value and that is wasn't worth the listing fee to auction them. If you think differently please let me know.
